In 1999 she graduated Cum Laude from the University of Louisville with a degree in Mathematics.
She graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University College of Optometry in 2003.
In 2007 she was awarded Kentucky Optometric Association's Young Optometrist of the Year.
She is an active member of the Owensboro community serving as a board member on the Daviess County Board of Health as well as various other committees.
