Dr. Troy Smith hails from Turpin, Oklahoma, where he excelled in every facet of student life.
He was a standout athlete and Valedictorian of his class.
Upon graduation Dr. Smith attended nearby Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva with plans to enter coaching.
These plans soon changed, as Dr. Smith felt compelled to enter the eye care profession.
It was in these years that Dr. Smith met and married his wife Liz, who now serves as the Office Manager of Alva Vision Clinic.
After completing his Bachelor's Degree at Northwestern in Biology and a Double Minor in both Physics and Psychology, Dr. Smith attended Optometry School at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree (OD).
