Eye Luv Lucy
Many patients come to us every day struggling to get through their daily lives with their current choice of vision correction. Some have eyeglasses that do not sit properly on their face or feel that their peripheral vision is hindered by the frames. Keratoconus occurs when the eye's cornea thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape. A cone-shaped cornea causes blurred vision and may cause sensitivity to light and glare.

Contact lenses come in a variety of shapes and styles to suit the range of needs for individual patients. What this means is that there is almost certainly a type of contact lens that will both feel comfortable for you and improve your vision. Every patient is different and so are their eyes. This means that there need to be different types of contact lenses to suit each individual.

Some patients have corneal abnormalities while others suffer from eye conditions that mean normal contact lenses won't be comfortable or could irritate their eyes. Dr. Lucy loves being an optometrist.
Services
Having grown up in San Jose, Dr. Lucy Yen has seen just about every eye care practice in the Bay Area.
Over the years, it struck her that out of an area of over 7 million wonderfully smart, sophisticated, artistic, and wonderfully creative people, most every optical shop seemed a repeat of the one down the street.
The choices in eyeglasses, sunglasses, and how exams were given seemed so very limited.
Everything looked the same, everybody looked the same!
Where was the fun?
Where was the style?
Where was the quality?
Low vision is a term for conditions that result in reduced sight and cannot entirely be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, medicines or surgery.
Several eye diseases or conditions can cause low vision and here we will discuss the four most common causes of low vision and their risk factors.
Many patients come to us every day struggling to get through their daily lives with their current choice of vision correction.
Some have eyeglasses that do not sit properly on their face or feel that their peripheral vision is hindered by the frames.
Eye Luv Lucy Optometry is unlike any other optical store in the South San Jose Area.
We don't follow the crowd carrying the same tired styles every other optical shop sells.
Instead, Eye Luv Lucy Optometry has searched the world over to bring the finest made eyeglasses from the world's leading designers to showcase in our cozy South San Jose store.
Many of our frames are made by hands and made in Japan or Europe by true artist and craftsmanship that are passionate and trained extensively in eyewear designs.
You may think sunglasses are just a fashion accessory or something to wear in the summer; however, they are a key component to eye health here in California.
Sunglasses protect your eyes, and the skin around them, from the sun's harmful UV rays.
Those of us who enjoy all the activities of California's mountains and open water activities increase our UV exposure up to 50%.
That's brutal on eyes without sun protection.
At Eye Luv Lucy Optometry, we have taken great pains to select sunglasses as unique as your personality, yet as protective of your eyes as possible.
Technology seems to change the very world around us.
No more so than right here in the heart of Silicon Valley.
The amazing changes we've seen in computers, social media networks, messaging, smartphones, and chips have also made eyeglasses lenses radically improved from what they were just a few years ago.
Dr. Lucy and our opticians go through continuous education and intense training to fit you with the very latest in lens technologies.
Everyone is unique in the way in which they use their eyes.
