You are awake during the surgery, they give you something to relax you, so you are not able to drive home after the surgery. The surgery itself is only about 15 minutes long & absolutely painless.

Once surgery is complete you are ready to be driven home. Really quite easy for a fantastic result. Great staff & my Dr. Was Dr. Perich himself, top of the line. After you arrive at the outpatient surgery center, your doctor will numb your eye with drops or an injection near the eye.
Your doctor may also give you a medication to relax.
Your surgeon will make tiny cuts with a laser or a blade near the edge of your cornea, which is the clear covering on the front of your eye.
By age 40, you should get checked for glaucoma every two to three years.
