Services
Dr. Romeu Eye Associates has provided West New York optometrist services for over four decades.
We offer eye & vision exams, contact lens exams, Lasik eye surgery, Ortho-K, computer vision treatment, and sports vision services to the greater West New York area.
We also offer services for patients who have problems with hard-to-fit contacts due to astigmatism, keratoconus, dry eyes, or the need for multifocal lenses.
Our primary eye care team in West New York includes licensed optometrists, board-certified nutritionist, technicians, frame stylists, and patient relations team members that are happy to work with your insurance and financial plans to ensure you receive the best in eye care so your vision stays 20/20.
Orthokeratology, also known as ortho-k, is a non-permanent process that uses hard contacts to reshape the eyes so that the user does not have to wear glasses or contacts all of the time.
Myopia prevention is a relatively new venture in optometry to try to reduce the rate of change or development of high prescriptions in children.
We can offer comprehensive eye exams carried out by our skilled and experienced eye care associates here at our offices in West New York, NJ.
A thorough investigation of your child's overall health of the eye and the visual system is important because some childhood vision problems can cause permanent vision loss.
If you rely on contacts or glasses to be able to see clearly, we know that you've dreamed of being able to just get through the day with perfect vision while not having to wear any type of corrective lens.
While there are many surgeries out there that can help with this, we also know that the idea of lasers in your eye can be kind of scary.
Fortunately, for those of us that want a different option, Ortho K, or orthokeratology is an answer to our needs.
Ortho K is a process that uses gas permeable lenses to help reshape the cornea while you sleep.
Myopia, aka near-sightedness, may seem like a fairly mild problem to deal with.
Sure, you will need to rely on prescription glasses or contact lenses to correct your vision so that you can see distant objects more clearly, but this is about the only impact that myopia has - isn't it?
Not quite.
Very few people realize that moderate to severe myopia has been linked to the development of a range of serious ocular conditions that could potentially threaten your long-term vision.
However, by raking positive steps towards myopia prevention and control, you can substantially reduce your risk of suffering from any of these issues in the future.
Most of the time, we rely on our vision more than any of our other senses.
We also often fall back on our vision to confirm exactly what our other senses are telling us.
This makes it invaluable to our day to day lives.
Unsurprisingly, this means that your eyes are something that you shouldn't take for granted, and one of the best ways to make sure that you don't is to attend regular comprehensive eye exams.
Ideally, everyone should have a comprehensive eye exam at least every two years.
If you haven't had the health of your eyes or your vision checked in at least 18 months, our team would be delighted to help.
