Services
Meet Dr. Sundip Patel, medical optometrist serving San Antonio and the New Braunfels areas since 2005.
Trained at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, he sees patients ages six and up and provides wellness eye exams as well as medical eye exams monitoring for conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, hypertension and cataracts.
He also takes office visits for infections, foreign bodies, corneal abrasions and vision loss, and he is very experienced at fitting contact lenses of all kinds.
Our office now offers LipiFlow(R) treatment.
LipiFlow(R) is a groundbreaking treatment that addresses the cause of Evaporative Dry Eye.
If over-the-counter or prescription remedies have been unable to produce long-lasting relief, it may be because they haven't been targeting the primary cause of dry eye - the blockage of the Meibomian glands located in the eyelid.
During an eye exam, Dr. Sundip Patel will ask you questions about any symptoms or issues you are experiencing, medications you are currently taking, any blurry vision, your work environment, and your overall health.
Whether you need a thorough eye examination, diabetic screening, glaucoma screening, LASIK co-management or emergency eye care, Dr. Patel will provide you with outstanding quality care.
We have been serving The Greater San Antonio area since 2005 and strive to exceed our patients' expectations.
When you walk through our doors, you will be greeted by a compassionate and experienced team that is dedicated to providing high-quality personalized eye care for your whole family in a friendly and professional environment.
Appointments may be arranged by calling our office during the hours listed to the right.
When you call our office for an appointment, briefly explain your eye problem to the receptionist so that the proper amount of time can be allotted for your appointment.
Also, please tell the receptionist if you will require any special help for your visit.
Typically, your first visit will take at least two hours and will consist of a complete eye examination.
Your pupils will be dilated with eye drops during the exam.
The human eye is the organ of sight closely related to the brain and is best compared to a camera.
Like a sophisticated camera, the eye has multiple discrete parts which must function together properly to produce clear vision.
The function of the eye is to convert light into an electro-chemical signal, which is then transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve.
It is in the brain that this signal is converted into "vision."
To illustrate this, we will follow the path that light takes as it travels through the eye and we will discuss the various ocular structures encountered along the path.
