Current state-of-the-art technologies and therapies are employed for both diagnosis and treatment in all ophthalmic sub-specialties. We treat a wide variety of pediatric ophthalmology disorders and Dr Spencer and his team stress the importance of routine eye exams to detect potential vision problems early in a child's life.

Here at Koala Eye Centre, we specialize in all aspects of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Adult Strabismus and Neuro-Ophthalmology. When it comes to the eyesight, it is one of the most important functions of our human body. The office is beautiful and pristine which provides a pleasant environment for a doctor's appointment. I was seen by Dr. Spencer for a surgical procedure and I am incredibly pleased with my outcome.

The staff is professional and the doctor is literally the best in Greensboro. I have circulated through many ophthalmologists prior to this one and must say that this one was this best for me.

Conditions involving problems with alignment, focusing, double vision or synchronized eye movement in maintaining single binocular vision is considered to be Strabismus.
In the adult population this represents the largest group of acquired strabismus patients.
These conditions can result from many concurrent medical diseases such as diabetes, strokes, hypertension, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, aneurysm, thyroid disease, atherosclerosis, arthritis etc.
Treatment of adult strabismus, however, has the ability to increase the quality of life for adults of any age.
Six muscles control every eye movement.
If one of these muscles does not function properly, your eye doctor will diagnose an eye motility disorder.
Some children are born with a disorder, though some appear suddenly.
Knowing the signs of changes may help prevent permanent eye damage.
These eye movement disorders such as "nystagmus" (wiggly or wobbly to and fro movements of one or both eyes); "D.V.D" (disassociated apparently independent movement of one eye); "I.N.O" (problems with tandem eye movements) are examples that can be found during and eye exam.
Neurological complications in growing children can affect both sight and eye function.
As your child's eyes and vision develop, diagnosing related problems calls for special expertise.
For patients suffering from eye problems related to the central nervous system, heart and circulatory systems, endocrine or other systemic conditions, Koala Eye Centre can provide timely interventions to preserve vision and treat the underlying medical problem.
Neuro-ophthalmology is the study and treatment of eye problems that stem from nervous system conditions or systemic disease rather than just from the eye.
