This includes treating lazy eye (amblyopia), eye turns (strabismus), and a variety of eye coordination and eye movement disorders as well as vision problems that interfere with reading and learning.

We will take extra care to listen to your concerns, answer your questions and thoroughly explain your condition and treatment options.
20/20 Isn't EverythingMost children have no idea how they are supposed to see.
Therefore it is important that you know the signs that a vision problem is interfering with your child's ability to read and learn.
One out of four children struggle with reading and learning because of undiagnosed vision problems.
The majority of the vision problems that interfere with reading and learning are very treatable.
Vision screenings in school and at the pediatrician's office usually only test distance vision.
Vision therapy is much like "physical therapy", but rather than treating the muscles of the body, it works on the eyes and visual system.
It is an invaluable tool that has changed not only our patients' vision, but has improved many related areas of their lives as well.
The first step of a vision therapy program is a thorough examination with Dr. Sorkin to determine if vision therapy is the best course of care.
With extensive experience treating patients of all ages, he easily makes his younger patients feel comfortable during this exam.
Unfortunately, many people do not know the signs of vision problems that interfere with academic success.
Most certainly, children rarely report they are having visual difficulties.
There are physical clues that point to possible vision problems, but surprisingly, many of the symptoms that would indicate a person is having vision problems seem unrelated to vision.
Yet, these symptoms are occurring as a direct result of a vision problem.
If you find that you or your child have 3 or more symptoms above, it is recommended that you schedule an appointment for a full development vision evaluation.
