Services
We conduct specialized eye exams for people of all ages.
Periodic examinations of the eye are conducted every year or once in two years for children to detect refractal errors such as myopia or near-sightedness.
Also, recurrent eye exams for people between 20 and 60 years of age are conducted once every one to two years and annual examinations for those over 60 years of age are conducted with advanced procedures in place if medical diagnoses are detected.
Diabetes sometimes leads to a condition called diabetic retinopathy which causes the blood vessels in the eye to swell.

Cataract surgery is performed depending on the severity of the condition.
When individuals find it difficult to read or drive, we perform the surgery with a local anesthesia.
The surgery is performed through a small incision and requires no stitch after completion.
Dr. Mark Austin has more than 25 years of experience performing small incision no-stitch cataract surgery in the greater Appleton area.
The most common cause of cataracts is biological aging and overexposure to ultraviolet light.
The lens lies behind the iris and pupil and works to focus light onto the retina at the back of the eye.
