Services
Dr. Anita Ali is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and certified Glaucoma Specialist.
She received her doctorate degree from Rosenberg School of Optometry.
In addition, she received her externship training at Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Brook Army Medical Center.
She enjoys practicing full scope optometry, with an emphasis in ocular disease, fitting specialty contact lenses, and LASIK co-management.
Dr. Ali enjoys using the latest technology to diagnose eye diseases and keep up with the newest eye treatments for her patients.
The eye doctor will use variety of test and procedure to examine and evaluate the health of the eyes.
These test include visual acuity, ocular motility test, cover test, color vision test, ocular pressure, stereopsis (depth perception test), refraction and slit lamp exam with high power lens.
Presbyopia occurs due to aging, causing the lens to lose elasticity, creating a blur for near vision.
At this point, the lens is no longer able to focus light directly on the retina.
Instead, the light focuses behind the retina, creating the blurry vision you experience when looking at something up close.
A Cataract is the "cloudy" area, made up of proteins and water, in the lens of the eye that is normally clear.
The clouding of the lens causes light to scatter in the eye, making it unable to focus properly.
Symptoms associated with Cataracts are blurred/hazy vision, sensitivity to light, opaque colors, and reduced night vision.
Diabetes, age, drugs, UV radiation, smoking, alcohol, and eye injuries are contributing factors to developing Cataracts.
In addition to diagnosing Cataracts, we can provide you with a Cataract Surgery Consultation and refer you to the best capable to accomplish your surgery.
In addition to eyeglasses, we also offer contact lenses.
After your exam is done, Dr. Ali performs a contact lens fitting in-office.
You will try on a trial pair with your new prescription that best accommodates your eye care needs.
We offer a variety of contact lenses, whether they be a monthly, bi-weekly, or daily.
You will be fit with the right pair to keep your eyes breathable and lubricated.
We prescribe and evaluate all major brands of soft and rigid contact lenses.
Additionally, we prescribe custom designed contact lenses for special needs as well as special eye problems.
Specialized fitting may include: Monovision, bifocal contact lenses, astigmatism contacts.
Our staff are able to answer many of your questions and are available for ongoing contact lens instruction and training.
We have an extensive inventory of contact lenses and most of our patients leave with contact lenses THE SAME DAY as their exam.
