Dr. Cunningham moved his practice to East Orange in 1973 to partner with a group of Black physicians who built the "Blue Building" at 185 Central Avenue.
Today, his son, Dr. Robert Cunningham Jr. leads the practice after joining in 1984.
He continues to serve the community, and has positioned himself as a trendsetter in cataract and glaucoma surgery.
