Dr. Fallas is a native of Costa Rica.
He moved to the United States from 1990 to 1991 at the age of 17 to participate as an exchange student in Houston, Texas.
In 1992 he returned to the United States where he attended the University of South Dakota and received his Bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry.
He also had the opportunity of being part of the University's soccer team and was part of the Dean's list for outstanding academics.
Dr. Fallas was also inducted into many honor societies including Alpha Lambda Delta, Guidon, and Phi Sigma.
