Services
Jeffrey H. Levenson, M. D., received his undergraduate degree in Biology with honors from Princeton University.
He received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, where he was the President of A.O.A., the Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Levenson served his residency training in Ophthalmology at Emory University where he also served as Chief Resident.
He has authored several chapters of a standard medical school textbook and has served as an editor of the American Academy of Ophthalmology's textbook series.
Frank W. McDonald, M.D. specializes in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery, including blade-free LASIK and PRK.
He earned his undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of Notre Dame.
After completing medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Dr. McDonald served his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also acted as chief resident.
He was then awarded a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, receiving extensive training in LASIK and the treatment of corneal disease.
Sheldon Singal, M.D. has been practicing comprehensive ophthalmology in Jacksonville for over 30 years.
He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Together with Dr. Ronald Singal, they founded the first outpatient surgery center in North Florida dedicated to the treatment of eye disease.
Doctor Sheldon Singal has served as President of the Duval County Society of Ophthalmology.
Walter Smithwick IV, M. D., graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a B.E. in Electrical Engineering.
He received his medical degree from the University of Vanderbilt, College of Medicine.
Dr. Smithwick served his residency training in Ophthalmology and a Fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery at the Dean McGee Eye Institute, University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Smithwick is a member of several local and national medical societies and is an Associate Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at UF Health in Jacksonville.
Steven H Schwartz, O.D., received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Psychology from the University of Illinois, where he was honored as a recipient of the George Huff Award for Scholastics and Athletics.
He was awarded a Bachelors of Science in Physiologic Optics and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he received a Deans List with Honors distinction.
Dr. Schwartz is Board Certified by the State of Florida and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Florida Optometric Association.
