Curts & Reed Optometry
The Centers for Disease Control, Kansas Optometric Association, and Kansas State Board of Examiners in Optometry have issued guidelines for optometry practices to reopen safely. Curts & Reed Optometry are following these recommendations as we continue to see patients for essential eye health and vision needs. Of note: only patients, patient interpreters, and guardians of minor patients may enter the office, and all patients must supply their own face covering to wear at all times in the office.

We are unable to accommodate walk-in visits for eye exams and contact lens fittings at this time. Please schedule an appointment online. Please use our patient contact form or call (913)732-2552 with any questions. As always, we continue to monitor this fluid situation and will update you as appropriate. Wash your hands, stay 6 feet away from other people, don't touch your face, wear a face covering when you are out, and be kind.

Dr. Johni Curts and Dr. Darren Reed are local, independent eye doctors who founded Curts & Reed Optometry in 2018 to bring the best eye care experience to Olathe and greater Kansas City.

Our eye care team understands the importance of vision in development and learning and we are passionate about helping kids achieve their full potential.
Children grow so fast and their vision is vastly different from adults.
Toddlers, school-age kids and adolescents have different vision needs, so it is important to have their eyes thoroughly examined on a yearly basis.

Orthokeratology, or "OrthoK, " is an overnight process to correct vision, leaving your child free from the need of glasses or contact lenses during the day.
Along with the convenience of not having to wear glasses or contacts during the day, OrthoK is also PROVEN to slow down or even stop the progression of myopia so your child's vision will not continue getting worse and worse every year.
This also means that your child will have a lower risk of serious vision conditions later in life such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and retinal detachment.
