Pediatric Optometry & Vision Care
Pediatric Optometry and Vision Care is a practice dedicated to high quality eye care for infants, children, adolescents and in limited cases, adults who require specialized care. The demand on our children's eyes is higher than ever. An eye exam that is only evaluating a child's ability to see the letters on an eye chart is missing many crucial elements.

Most notably, how well the eyes work together to focus, follow and track during reading, writing and other near tasks. We provide comprehensive pediatric eye exams as well as specialized care for binocular vision deficiencies and other visual disturbances caused by Traumatic Brain Injury (concussion). These cases may require vision therapy, prisms or other treatments.

For over 15 years, parents have depended on Dr. Christine Squeri to provide their children and adolescents specialized pediatric optometric care. She is passionate about bringing a new level of eye care to the Upper East Side for the many children and families in the area who are looking for a pediatric optometrist they can trust.

Scientists have found a more effective treatment for a common childhood eye muscle coordination problem called convergence insufficiency (CI).
For words on a page to appear in focus a child's eyes must turn inward, or converge.
In CI, the eyes do not converge easily, and as a result, additional muscular effort must be used to make the eyes turn in.
