A native of Water Valley, Dr. Steve Edwards, did his undergraduate studies at Mississippi College and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in 1987.

Professionally, he has served as a clinical instructor at the Southern College of Optometry and has been appointed by Governor Phil Bryant to serve on the Mississippi State Board of Optometry and presently serves as chairman.
