Some of their numerous awards including: Dr. Takao Shishino Endowed Scholarships, Dr. John Dean Student Research Award, Asian American Optometric Society Award, Sports Vision Award, and being recognized in the Deans Honor List. They are both currently the Class Agent for their graduating class, assisting with alumni relations and class fundraising.
Dr. Dennis' experience includes working in Downtown Los Angeles helping low-income residents receive eye examinations and treatment at the Optometric Center of Los Angeles (OCLA). In addition, his clinical externship at the Veteran Affairs West Los Angeles hospital fine tuned his ocular disease management skills. He studied at a United States Naval Hospital in Japan serving our military personnel.
Dr. Dixon is proud to have served two Veteran Affairs (VA) locations, Bakersfield and VA Southern Nevada, where he managed many different pathologies, including cataracts, Diabetes, and Macular Degeneration. He also worked closely with the Indian Health Service (IHS) in Warm Springs, Oregon, gaining more experience in treating patients of various ethnicities and backgrounds.
