Thanks to his winning personality and excellent customer service, optician Thomas "Papa" Hughes grew a large following of devoted customers while working at other eyewear establishments. To create a more personal outlet for his customers, Papa Hughes founded his own optical boutique inside an old Victorian house in the heart of Delmar, NY. Hughes Opticians was born.
Although the premises have gone through changes over the years, Hughes Opticians still serves customers in its original location at the "four corners" of Delmar, where Delaware and Kenwood Avenue meet. At Hughes Opticians, no face ever leaves without a frame - with nearly thirty designer eyewear brands and exclusive accounts that aren't found for several hundred miles, there's an endless selection of eyewear to choose from.
